Vera's Story...

HI- I'm VERA- and I'm patiently waiting to find a great home to call my very own! I am spayed, up to date on shots and have been treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms. I have also tested negative for both FIV and Feline Leukemia. I am housetrained/litterbox trained and I am extremely loving and friendly! My foster home tells me I am absolutely beautiful...and I have to say, I don't mind the compliment at all! I love to snuggle and also to play! I also love to give kisses! I am just happy all of the time and I love every day of life. I am approximately 1 year old (2009).

To tell you a bit about my past-- it wasn't an easy start in life...I was found as a stray in the bitter cold winter weather and I am so thankful to Advocates 4 Animals for saving my life! When I was rescued the end tip of my tail had been broken in a previous accident during my life as a stray (when I was just trying to survive!)...It had healed on it's own, so there is a slight bend to the end of my tail because of the way it healed--- but it causes me no pain at all and I am as happy as can be now that I know I am looking forward to finding a great, committed and loving home to call my very own!

When I dream of my forever home- I dream of a very loving, committed home and one with a very relaxed atmosphere- where I can have lots of attention and petting- and a family who will be forever devoted to me. I would love to have at least one other cat in my new home- so that I can have a friend to play with--- but either way I just want a home where I will have lots of love and attention. If you are interested in adopting me, please contact Advocates 4 Animals today- I can't wait to meet you-- remember my name is VERA!

NOTE FROM VERA'S FOSTER FAMILY: "Vera is a beautiful, very loving feline! Vera is VERY sweet and loving...She also loves to sit next to you on the couch or on your lap. She loves all nice people. One of Vera's talents that we have learned is she loves Temptation cat treats (or human food treats)- and if you toss them to her, she can catch them in her mouth or with her paws...we think it is adorable and we love her so much! The one thing you have to watch for with Vera is that she will knock over garbage cans. We keep our garbage cans behind closed doors so this is not an issue with us- but it is something we would like her potential adopters to know about her.
Another thing that Vera really loves to do is sit by the back door when the porch light is on at night and watch the bugs flying around!

We have no doubt that Vera will be a wonderful feline to the right home! She is VERY affectionate and friendly!!!"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vera, a Xenia Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Xenia, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
