Gretchen's Story...
URGENT! We need financial help with Gretchen's medical bills. This poor little girl needs so much--she is intestinal worm positive, has at least three tumors that need to be removed, she will need to be spayed, she is bone thin, and she has an upper respiratory infection requiring antibiotic treatment. Fortunately, she is heartworm negative. If you can help Gretchen, please forward your tax-deductible contribution to: MSBR-Gretchen's Medical Fund; P. O. Box 11891; Charleston, WV 25339 or send your donation to Phillips Animal Hospital; 100 Virginia Street, East, Charleston, WV 25301. We will be accepting applications to adopt Gretchen once her medical care is completed. She is a well mannered, loving girl who will make a great companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gretchen, a Charleston Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
