Maggie's Story...
Hi there- I'm MAGGIE! I am a beautiful, bright eyed 4 month old (as of 4/209) feline looking for a great indoor home to call my very own, fur-ever! I am spayed, up to date on shots, tested negative for both FIV and Feline Leukemia and treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms. I am housetrained/litterbox trained. I am incredibly sweet and loving! I get along well with other cats and with all people who are nice to me. I am a LAP CAT, I love to snuggle, be petted, to sit on your lap- and I just love to be love! I am very affectionate and playful too!

My life started out a bit tough, but thanks to the great people at Advocates 4 Animals rescue, I now have a wonderful life and I am patiently waiting to find a home to call my very own! I have not yet been around dogs (my foster home does not have dogs), but my foster parents think I would be fine with a dog. To tell you a little bit about my past, I lived as a stray on the streets with my mother and brothers/sisters-- just trying to survive day to day. It was scary, lonely and cold! (Not to mention, we were starving!) We were always dodging traffic and running away from mean people. It was a very scary time. Thankfully we have all been rescued by A4A and we are safe and sound as we patiently wait homes to call our very own!

If you are interested in adopting me- please contact A4A right away and let them know! I can't wait to meet you! I AM READY FOR ADOPTION AS OF 4/20/09- so please contact Advocates 4 Animals today!

-- If you're interested in adopting me, please contact Advocates 4 Animals right away or complete the online ADOPTION APPLICATION! I can't wait to meet you!

***Please note, cats are extremely routine oriented pets. It may take 2-8 weeks to fully adjust to a new home environment. Please remember to be patient when bringing a new feline into your home. ***

Please contact Advocates 4 Animals to begin the adoption process or complete the online ADOPTION APPLICATION! .
1. A phone or e-mail interview will be conducted
2. If approved, an Advocates 4 Animals member will contact you and schedule a 'meet & greet' with the adoptable pet
The 'meet & greet' will be held in your home.
3. At that time of the home visit, we will assess if the pet(s) is a good match for both the family/individual adopting the pet and the home environment.

Please note:
-All individuals living in the home must agree to adopt the pet into their home. All members of the home should be present during the 'meet & greet'-- including additional pets who live in the home.
If Advocates 4 Animals determines that the pet is not a good fit for the potential adopter, this will be discussed at the time of the home visit.
Every pet is different. Some pets have highly specialized needs (ie: type of environment, other pets, etc.) while others adjust easily to various environments. Felines typically take 2-8 weeks to begin adjusting to their new home. All pets have been housed in foster homes while they wait to find a home to call their very own. All adoptable rescue pets are up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms and have been spayed/neutered.
-Advocates 4 Animals requires an adoption donation fee of $75.00. The adoption donation assists us in rescuing and rehabilitating additional homeless pets. Our organization is run solely on donations and with volunteers. Without your support we could not continue our efforts!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Xenia British Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a British Shorthair for sale in Xenia, or seeking a British Shorthair cat from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even British Shorthair breeders who help with British Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
