My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Unknown breed, but he is gorgeous (we've been calling him a little teddy bear because he looks like a stuffed animal). A very stocky medium sized rabbit with super thick, medium length hair (longer than a normal rabbit, but not as long as say, an angora). Size: At the vet he was 5.5 pounds. Color: a very light tan with gray mixed in and on his underside Reason in rescue: This poor little boy was part of a group of rabbits dumped off in a neighborhood, left to fend for themselves, which would have resulted in death. A good citizen caught them and called us. I don't want to know what kind of person would throw a group of rabbits out of a car and just speed away without caring what happened to these sweet little boys Approximate DOB: Probably born sometime in 2007 Personality: Benjamin, after all he has been through, is such a big sweetie. Within the first hour of being at the rescue, he let me pick him up and check him over and have a cuddle and he was perfectly happy to let me do whatever I wanted, as long as I was petting and cuddling with him. He's going to be an amazing pet!! He can be shy with people that he doesn't know, and he doesn't yet run up to you when he is out playing, so he's going to need someone who can work with him to gain his trust and be patient with him. Probably not young children for him, at least not handing him daily as he would be more skittish around them. Special Needs: When Benjie came to us, we brought him in for a vet visit. He had ticks all over his neck, sucking his blood out, and he had fleas. They pulled the ticks out and he's now cured of the fleas. He's also being treated for an eye infection, and he's on antibiotics. This poor little boy, after all he's been through and how uncomfortable he was, he still is such an amazingly sweet litte bunny. The vet just loved him and kept telling him what a good boy he was as she was yanking the ticks out of his neck. He just laid there with his feet kicked back on the vet table and let us do whatever we needed to do. Friends:Benjamin would do best living as a single bunny. Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage or pen with litter box. Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (email for the application), and approved by me. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see him, and then a home visit is also required after that. Suggested adoption donation $60 **“Please email if you are interested in adoption. We respond to all emails within 24 hours.
