Peanut's Story...
Heya folks! I’m Peanut! What’s that? What’d you say? I should be named walnut!!!??? Hey, easy there buddy, just ‘cause I could lose 10 lbs or so doesn’t give you a right to call me a walnut! It’s no crime to be on the tubby side of life! Why would someone tease such a friendly little guy like myself? I mean, I’m a total catch… I’m housebroken, I know basic commands and I have good house manners too. I do well with children of all ages, and I really enjoy the company of other dogs and humans too. I’m a guy who likes to go to the dog-park and play, and I love a good walk… Maybe with a good run I could get to a healthier weight too. I would like to have a fenced yard, see us beagles like to follow our noses… I also enjoy a good cat chase… And don’t forget, beagles make a special noise called baying—some thinks it’s adorable and others think it’s… Well, let’s talk about that in person eh? But anyway, like I said--I’m a catch! And you consider yourself a beagle connoisseur—I might be your boy! 6 years old. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; neuter, microchip, reduced cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Portland Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
