Flash's Story...
Whelped: 7/4/98

Temperament: My name is Flash, but that doesn’t mean that I want a relationship that will be a flash in the pan. I had to leave my last home because an elderly, allergic human came to live with my parents. I am known as a “Senior” dog which just means that I am past the puppy antics. I am healthy and expect to have years to love my new owners. I am cat friendly and like my greyhound family. I like to play with toys for a little while but I leave the running around to the youngsters. I am happy, but not pushy. I like to eat and sleep. I sleep all night on my dog bed. I am good on a leash but my feet get tired so I prefer shorter walks and longer naps. Car rides are OK, but not my preference and I tell my drivers this when they take me on short trips. I know I am not supposed to get on furniture or get in trouble when my people are gone; therefore, I do not need or like to be crated.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flash, a Tampa Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
