About a month ago, my owner decided he no longer wanted me. No reason, just dropped me off at the pound without even a second thought. I really don’t take up too much room; I’m small and barely weigh 20 pounds. I am not going to get any bigger and I’m not sure what I did wrong to make him hate me so much as to take me to doggy jail.
Apparently my previous owners told the shelter that I bit a teenager, I don’t remember doing that and if I did, I’m sure it was because I was either “play biting” or being taunted and defending myself. I would never bite unless provoked. Get to know me and you’ll realize that I was probably playing, I love to play!
I was in jail with no bail for about two weeks and then I was put on the “risk list” scheduled for euthanization. I’ve been told that I’m actually pretty lucky, most “Owner Turn-Ins” as my “type” are called, are usually kept alive for no more than three days. Must have been my cuddly cute fur and my good disposition.
Ken-Mar Rescue got the call that I needed help and they said they’d do all they could to get me networked and sourced to a great, new, “fur-ever” home. They promised (and I believe them) that they will do whatever it takes so that I will end up in a home where they’ll love me REALLY “fur-ever” and never, ever even think of giving me up!
So here I am!
A little more about me . . .
I love walks and really thrive when I have them so that I can release all of my puppy energy and sleep well at night.
I really look forward to those walks!
My owner worked 8 hours a day, 5 days a week so I am used to the work schedule of most people and can be by myself but I LOVE to be with people once they are home.
I get along with humans and need a true “pack leader” to show me the ropes in life. I get along great with dogs equal to my size and compatible with my energy because I love to "rough house" to let off energy. I’m not sure how I feel about cats since I’ve never had them as siblings.
I am up to date with all my shots and I am neutered, micro chipped and all ready to go. Please complete the Adoption Questionnaire so that we can meet soon.
PLEASE NOTE: Paco has a very strong hunting instinct (squirrels, lizards, rabbits, etc.) and is a very athletic Jack Russell, meaning he will need to have walks or runs daily to let off all of his energy.
The ideal home for Paco would be one with a huge yard to play in where he would be the only child to a very active family with no children or would be a sibling dog to a similar-sized canine so that he could "rough house" and let off energy.
Paco is a very good candidate for training because his social skills need development, especially when it comes to interacting with small animals. Paco is a great guardian and watchdog. He will thrive with a strong pack leader that will show him the ropes in life and that will reassure him that he will never be abandoned again.
True to his breed, Paco is a pure bred, Jack Russell "Pudding." This version of Jack Russell includes a rough coat and shorter legs. More on the breed here:

BREED: Jack Russell Terrier "Pudding," approx 20 lbs, 2 years, neutered male, golden rust & white
OBSESSIONS: Rawhide Chicken Treats
NAUGHTIEST DEED: Turn into a raving lunatic if I don’t get my daily walks!
SPECIAL TALENT: If there's a job to do, like hunting for a bird or small animal, I'm your guy!
FAVORITE JOB: Running with you alongside your bike if you don't go too fast so I can keep up.
KNOWN ACHIEVEMENTS: Being a constant companion no matter what.. I also like to "chill" after a long day of exercise, I really look forward to those "cozy" times when I can just relax and focus on the activities for tomorrow.
