Ruff Ruff! My name is Buddy
Important Note: Buddy is best friends with Sandy. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
|Breed:||Golden Retriever/Shar Pei Mix||Color:||Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)||Sex:||Male|
I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Buddy is very smart and a quick learner. He knows several commands. He is quick to let outsiders know he is there. He is very protective as well.
Sandy likes to lay up on the bed and be near you. She knows what it means when you tell her to "stay with me" when its just the two of us outside. She's a social butterfly with most people.
They are both really good dogs. They enjoy taking walks and taking in the scenery. They would do better with a fenced in yard, so as to prevent them from going on excursions should they get out. They would do best in a home with no kids. Sandy doesn't do well with other dogs in her later years. Buddy wants to play with other dogs at times. They have come a long way from being scared & distrusting (due to their past, prior to Aarf rescuing them) to being secure & loving.

Rescue Group Info...
We are a non-profit, all volunteer, non-euthanizing rescue group out of Richmond, Virginia. We foster out of our homes to socialize the dogs and puppies to a family setting. Adults are house broken, crate trained and up-to-date on all of their medical before they go to their new homes. Puppies are started with their shots and wormings, depending on the age of the puppy as to how much medical is done on them before they go to their new families. If they are not spayed or neutered then they will receive a spay/neuter certificate to get it done when they become of age to do it, usually around 4 to 6 months of age. We rescue all breeds of dogs and puppies, from little ones to big breeds!
We adopt our dogs in the Richmond, Virginia, area. Our stand locations are as follows- Pet Smart at Libbie and Broad on Saturdays from 11:00-3:00
Make sure to check our website for more details and information about all the events listed above. www.aarf.org
There is an application process, including filling out the application. We submit it to our screening board and they will call your references, vet's office (if you have other pets), and interview you and your family. Once approved, they call the foster home and give the information to them to set up a time to deliver your new family member and to do a home visit. At that time there is a contract that needs to be read and signed. We also provide you with the pets medical records, a spay/neuter certificate (if needed) and a vet visit certificate. There is a $150.00 adoption fee that is due at time of delivery.
