Buddy was born in 2005. He is very smart and a quick learner. He knows several commands. He is quick to let outsiders know he is there. He is very protective as well. Sandy likes to lay up on the bed and be near you. She knows what it means when you tell her to "stay with me" when its just the two of us outside. She's a social butterfly with most people. They are both really good dogs. They enjoy taking walks and taking in the scenery. They would do better with a fenced in yard, so as to prevent them from going on excursions should they get out. They would do best in a home with no kids. Sandy doesn't do well with other dogs in her later years. Buddy wants to play with other dogs at times. They have come a long way from being scared & distrusting (due to their past, prior to Aarf rescuing them) to being secure & loving. We are a non-profit, all volunteer, non-euthanizing rescue group out of Richmond, Virginia. We foster out of our homes to socialize the dogs and puppies to a family setting. Adults are house broken, crate trained and up-to-date on all of their medical before they go to their new homes. Puppies are started with their shots and wormings, depending on the age of the puppy as to how much medical is done on them before they go to their new families. All animals will be spayed/neutered before adoption. We rescue all breeds of dogs and puppies, from little ones to big breeds!

Our Adoption Process...
There is an application process, including filling out the application. We submit it to our screening board and they will call your references, vet's office (if you have other pets), and interview you and your family. Once approved, they call the foster home and give the information to them to set up a time to deliver your new family member and to do a home visit. At that time there is a contract that needs to be read and signed. We also provide you with the pets medical records, the pet will already be spayed/neutered and microchipped, we also give a vet visit certificate. There is a $186.00 adoption fee that is due at time of delivery.
