Lil' Miss's Story...
Hey ya’ll, they call me Lil’ Miss and it’s a real pleasure to meet you! I have a sad story… My owners moved away and left me all alone in the yard with nobody to love me… I’m a shy little gal, like your typical teeny weeny Chihuahua, but I warm up fast! In my foster home an 18 month old child carried me around everywhere! But I am feeling a little scared right now, so a little bit bigger kids will be best. I get along with the other dogs here at the shelter too… I’m just your typical little lap dog… I want someone to hold me and cuddle with me and dress me up in shirts and coats to keep my little Chihuahua body warm… What do ya say? Will you give me the loving home I need? Teach me new things like housebreaking and crate training? Can we be friends? 1 year old-6lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes; reduced cost spay and $25 rebate, microchip, reduced cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lil' Miss, a Portland Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
