My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ON TRIAL / EN PÉRIODE D'ESSAI
Hey, everybody ... they call me Freckles. Boy, what a week! I’m less than 4 months old and already know what it’s like to be homeless. I was found wandering the streets and the pound scooped me up and brought me to safety. I was so scared because there were lots and lots of homeless dogs at the pound but not many were young pups like me. How can so many people lose their dogs? A really nice lady came to the pound and knew that she could find me a new home. So, here I am at Animatch where they have lots of toys and I love toys. I have lots of fur buddies to play with too. I’m a really friendly and easy-going guy but it’s would be best that whoever adopts me knows all about my breed. I’m a hound you know and I’ll follow my nose at every opportunity, so you’ll need a really safe fenced yard. I’m an escape artist and you wouldn’t want me to roam and get lost—being lost scares me. Bassets can be a little difficult to toilet train and I am a submissive pee-er. Being a submissive pee-er only means that a lack confidence. I’m just a puppy who got off to a rough start, so patience and consistency will help in my toilet training. As for the submissive pee-ing, I’ll get better as I get older and you can help me to gain confidence by taking me to obedience training. I don’t like to think of myself as stubborn, I’m an independant thinker. We Bassets have a reputation of being droolers, so if that bothers you maybe you better look at a Chihuahua. I have beautiful, velvet ears, and my new guardian has to remember to clean them once or twice a month. I really like to be a clown and make people laugh so I hope my new family has a good sense of humour. I’m a baby and I can’t be alone all day ... even adult Bassets like to be with their pack. One last thing, if you would like to adopt me, you will have to buy me LOTS of toys! So I’m here and safe but I don’t want to be homeless ever again. Please fill in the adoption form if you would like to adopt me.
