My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Cindy. She is one of 4 small dogs who came into the shelter together. We believe the older one to be the Mama, Carol. The three siblings are Marsha, Jan, and Cindy. All four of these little girls are very shy, none of them are leash trained, and all of them are petrified of being at the shelter around all the strange dogs and all the new people.

Cindy is full sized at only about 25 pounds. She is probably the most scared of the 4 girls. It seemed like she just wanted to disappear into the woodwork. But we wouldn't let her. We held her and tried to get to know her a little.

We believe Cindy will do better once she is away from her mama and siblings. Right now the girls are too inter-dependent and are not learning the social skills they need to be well rounded pets. This little girl is the perfect size for apartment living and/or families with small children, but first she needs to learn how to trust and love.

Come get your pick of the Brady Bunch before their time runs out…..

The animals at the shelter have five days to find a home. The Humane Society of Cherokee County, Inc., is the rescue and adoption agent for this shelter. We are trying to save as many animals as possible from this shelter by adoption. The $75 adoption fee includes all rabies, DHPP and bordatella vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, and heartworm test.

For a quick response and/or adoption appointment, email us at cherokeeshelter@gmail.com. The Cherokee County shelter is located in Gaffney, SC just a few minutes off I-85 and only about 20 miles northeast of Spartanburg, SC and about 50 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC.

We are very rescue-friendly and will work with reputable rescuers to get these animals to safety. Thank you for helping us to save the life of a homeless, unwanted, and soon to be killed, shelter animal!
