Tiffah's Story...

All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. When age appropriate, they have been spay/neutered, crate, leash and house trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.

Tiffah is a sweet, shy girl. She was treated a little roughly when she was a baby and you have to prove to her that you won't hurt her. When she finally trusts you, she playfully turns into a wiggling mass of love. She has good house manners, loves her crate and walks well on a leash. Tiffah will need to have a while to get used to everything new when she gets to her new home. With patience and no harsh words, she will blossom into a great family dog. But, she would do better in a quiet family with older children. Tiffah is very submissive to all dogs and gets along well with kitties.

Tiffah's good with most dogs & people although I think young children might make her nervous. I've had her since she was a puppy & she has slowly improved from being totally paralyzed with fear to just being slow to warm to new people. She will growl & bark when approached until she melts and is silly. She needs socialization and would not be a quick adoption. She was hw negative last yr. She will be retested prior to transport. She will be a great dog with some one on one. She is a 'kennel climber'

Come Meet Our Pets...
As we have no shelter, all of our adoptable animals are housed with families. Please email help@thedeltahumanesociety.com to arrange a meet and greet..
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption process has 3 steps. First we ask that you complete an application at http://www.thedeltahumanesociety.com/user/login?refererPageID=1359&keyID=1105&referer=/forms/form.phpQu8formid=1105Am1requirelogin=Yes
Once the application has been completed, we ask to do a brief, informal home visit. Once that has been completed, and you have been approved, you will be able to take the pet home for a sleepover that can last for up to 10 days. If you are satisfied that the pet is compatible with your family members, other pets and lifestyle, we will make the adoption final. Our adoption fees vary but the average is $250.00. The pet will have been spayed or neutered, have completed all of his vaccinations and be ready to go to your home. Finally, you must sign a contract that if, at any time during the life of the pet, your situation changes, it must be returned to us or we must give approval if you have a potential home. You can get more details on our web site.
