Decker's Story...
Howdy ya’ll, my name is Decker. I am a robust 3 year old boy who gets along with all people and animals. Not too sure about the cat but we have kept it civil so far. I enjoy walks around the neighborhood as well as trips to the dog park. I am dog-door trained and will tolerate the crate, but usually under protest. I am not destructive but admittedly may swipe the unattended food. I spend my time playing, sleeping and eating. I am active and would love to find a place that will keep me entertained. As long as exercise and fun are involved, you’re my kind of family. I am an average sized basset weighing in at 50 lbs, with a bodybuilder-eque physique. I hear I am as strong as an ox but trust me when I say I can be the most gentle and loving boy around.

Since I am so strong and active a home with small children may not be the best. However, keep in mind I am excellent with people of all ages and am quite trainable and eager to please. Gotta go, break time's over!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Decker, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
