5 Year old Rudy originally came from an abusive home but was taken in by a caring older couple who nursed him to become the loving and more balanced dog he is now. Unfortunately, the husband passed away and the wife has to work so Rudy was not getting the attention he needs and deserves. Rudy is 64 lbs (currently on a diet to bring this down). He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered, and has been microchipped.
Rudy is good with other dogs, kids, probably cats (just hasn’t been around them much), baths---in fact there isn’t much he doesn’t love. Rudy is quite mellow, likes to sleep a lot, and has been been a well-mannered dog. He likes to snuggle so be prepared for a 64 lb. lapdog. Medically, Rudy has developed some eye problems and an inverted tail which are both not terribly bad but need to be diligently attended daily. We think once his weight is down he will better negotiate stairs and also be able to breath with a little less obstruction (like most bullies he is a bit of a snorer).
Rudy has shown some food sensitivity in the past. He is on a lamb/rice food and does well with this, so it should be no problem.
Rudy is very good in a crate and can be left for reasonable periods of time, but he would prefer to be around people as much as possible. He likes to walk, is good on a leash, and will sleep soundly after a little exercise. Except for his minor medical issues, Rudy should make an easy transition into just about any situation.
NOTE FROM THE HUMANS
