My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cherokee is in failing health and is now a permanent foster dog

Cherokee is currently being fostered in the Hamilton Ohio area. Her adoption fee is minimal to an approved home.

Cherokee is an 8 yr old female cocker spaniel.
She is completely blind, due to her eyes being surgically removed.
She came to our rescue from a shelter in Ohio where she was facing euthanasia.
She and another cocker, (Tatianna) were surrendered to this shelter together because their owner was unable to care for them. They need to be adopted together as they depend on each other.

Both girls had vision/eye issues, Cherokee had painful glaucoma, eyes badly swollen and had to have both of them surgically removed.

She was already blind, so she has adjusted well to not having eyes.
Below is a note from her foster...

Cherokee… she is a sweet girl, and would love a human of her own to snuggle up with.
She Likes to be around other dogs, cuddling, sleeping, completely housetrained, knows basic commands and listens well
She does great in her crate and often will seek solace there during the day on her own
Not certain if she’s aware there is a cat in the house but she doesn’t seem to pay attention on the few times he comes around.
She likes to be outside and likes walks although she is very slow because she cannot see.
I can’t really say anything that she does not like that we have encountered.
She does growl, get snappy if she is sleeping and gets startled, which is not uncommon in blind dogs.

She will only be placed in a home that has NO children.

Cherokee is spayed, had a dental and is up to date on vaccines.
