Raleigh's Info...

Raleigh's Story...
Raleigh is an absolutely gorgeous little Chihuahua. He came into the shelter with two others, Einstein, the adorable Terrier Mix and Chase, the gorgeous Poodle Mix. All three are very scared here, but despite their fear, they are still sweet and gentle.

Raleigh is only about 8 pounds and has lovely yet unusual coloring. He has the traditional tricolor black, tan, and white markings, BUT it all looks like it's been dusted with a fine powdered sugar! This little guy does well with both men and women despite his shelter fear. And, in the security of a loving home, we believe he would even do well with older children.

Come see Raleigh and his buddies before his time runs out……

The animals at the shelter have five days to find a home. The Humane Society of Cherokee County, Inc., is the rescue and adoption agent for this shelter. We are trying to save as many animals as possible from this shelter by adoption. The $75 adoption fee includes all rabies, DHPP and bordatella vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, and heartworm test.

For a quick response and/or adoption appointment, email us at cherokeeshelter@gmail.com. The Cherokee County shelter is located in Gaffney, SC just a few minutes off I-85 and only about 20 miles northeast of Spartanburg, SC and about 50 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC.

We are very rescue-friendly and will work with reputable rescuers to get these animals to safety. Thank you for helping us to save the life of a homeless, unwanted, and soon to be killed, shelter animal!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raleigh, a Inman Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Inman, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Inman.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Inman already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Inman breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Inman paves the way for another one to be saved.
