Shiloh's Story...
This lovely fellow must have had a rough start. Shiloh is going to make someone a solid gold companion. He is active but calms down nicely, learns easily, and is playful with other dogs. He is has clearly had a lot of time outside, and the neglect has caused some skin irritation, but he is responding well to treatment. Shiloh loves the water and getting some attention, from you. He is quite large and needs to be with an adult or teenage only family until he has had more training. If you are someone with a love for the big ,wonderful "diamond in the rough" type dog, this is a perfect match!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shiloh, a Berkeley Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland breeders who help with Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
