Lucy's Story...
I may look sad, but really I’m happy… because Gwen rescued me from a ditch. I’m a 2-3 month old chow mix puppy… maybe some St. Bernard? I’m so sweet that I just don’t how anyone could have dumped me in a ditch. I was really scared and there were all these big things with four wheels going really fast in front of me. Gwen says they are cars and that they are bad for little puppies like me. I’m not sure why… I just know that they are loud and scary. I was told today that I’m coming to Pet Savers on May 16th just as soon as my shots kick in. In the meantime, you can call my best friend, Gwen at 318-282-0982 if you want to see me. My adoption fee is $60 which will get you a voucher to get me spayed when I get older… and Gwen says you’ll need to be screened and you’ll need the voucher before you can come get me. I love Gwen… (psst… maybe she’ll keep me.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Haughton Chow Chow/St. Bernard puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/St. Bernard for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Chow Chow/St. Bernard puppy from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/St. Bernard breeders who help with Chow Chow/St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
