Simon's Story...
Simon is an absolutely wonderful, handsome young boy. He is goofy and playful and loves to play with his foster sister pyr mix and his 9 yr old human foster kids. He is a purebred Great Pyrenese and fits the description to a tee! He is gentle and affectionate with those he loves. Devoted to his family and great with the children in it. A big 'ole teddy bear. Simon staying true to his breed, has an independent nature, and may try to dominate a less secure or meek owner. He can be stubborn and territorial. Owners need to be firm, but calm, confident and consistent with him. Setting rules that he must follow and stick to them. Anyone who is familiar with the breed will see that Simon is a spectaular dog looking for the right home and situation.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Simon, a Portsmouth Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Portsmouth, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Portsmouth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portsmouth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portsmouth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portsmouth paves the way for another one to be saved.
