Bo's Story...
Bo is an affectionate, social, older Beagle. He's easy to handle and doesn't care much for playing. He'd rather just hang with you. He's calm around children and seems like he's lived with cats before as they don't phase him. Bo is very good with other dogs. He would appreciate a home with older folks and not a lot of activity going on. There is something very endearing and charming about this dog. Come and see what I mean.

All dogs at our shelter have been started on a vaccination program, de-wormed, treated with Revolution for fleas, spayed/neutered and microchipped. The adoption fee for a dog is $150. If you are a PA resident, you will also be required to purchase a dog license. There are 2 licensing options : annual licenses are $6.50 and are renewable every January. Lifetime licenses are $31.50 and never need to be renewed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bo, a Honesdale Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Honesdale, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Honesdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Honesdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Honesdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Honesdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
