Dewey's Story...
This little guy is named Dewey. Dewey came to AdoptALab.org when he hitched a ride with a group of Labs from his shelter. Poor Dewey needs a new home. He is a purebred 2 year old Shih Tzu (he has been shaved recently as his coat was all matted when he came to us).

Dewey has been neutered and is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

Dewey loves to run and play with Ginger and Barnum at his foster home and loves the bigger dog but is a little timid around them.

Here is what is written about the ShihTzu:
The Shih-Tzu is an alert and spunky little dog. Happy and hardy, endowed with loads of character. The gentle loyal Shih-Tzu makes friends easily and responds well to consistent patient training. They make a very alert watch dog. Courageous and clever. Playful and lively, this affectionate little dog likes to be with people and are
generally good with other pets.

If you would like to adopt Dewey, please submit an adoption application from our website, and see our other great Labs who are looking for their forever homes, happy tails, and more!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dewey, a Boston Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Boston, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
