Shorty's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Shorty's Story...
Shorty is shy with people he doesn't know but completely adores other dogs. Once he gets to know you, however, he's a total velcro dog, wants to snuggle and curl up in your lap. He's more fearful of men than women and there are some men that he will probably never learn to trust. Although he was with a ten year old in his last home, we think he'd be most suited to an adult only home, He is adorable and a wonderful, compact size. In the right setting, he will make the perfect companion animal.

Act quickly to adopt Shorty. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shorty, a Berkeley Basset Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Basset Hound puppy from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
