You can't help but smile when you look into Delaney's face - she has a face that communicates so many things with just a glance - her beautiful physical appearance, a mischievousness nature, and an innate sweetness. Delaney is just as sweet (and mischievous) as she looks! Delaney is incredibly outgoing and will hop right up to come over and greet you. When you pet Delaney, you can just tell by looking at her how happy she is to be receiving your love - she flops over on her side and basks in your attention. Not only does she relish being pet, but she adores being brushed as well! Delaney loves snuggling in laps and even allows you to hold her like a baby.
Delaney's snuggliness is evenly balanced by her playfulness. Delaney loves, LOVES to play! She is not discriminatory against any type of toy - she loves them all! Doesn't matter what you throw across the room - furry toy mice, balls with bells, crinkly sparkle balls, soft fuzzy balls - Delaney chases them all with an enthusiasm that sends her sliding into the wall! Start waving a wand toy around and Delaney abandons the balls and comes running over at top speed! She'll bat around the wand end or the end with the dangly strings or feathers - she finds both ends very entertaining! Delaney also gets a kick out of the mouse track toy - a round container with gaps in it where she sticks her paw in and makes the mouse zoom around inside in circles.
Not only does Delaney love people and love playing, she really enjoys the companionship of other kitties and engaging them in play as well. We caught her rubbing her head against one kitty and saw her standing shoulder to shoulder with two other kitties anxiously awaiting mealtime! The funniest interaction to watch was when she and fellow RESCUE cat, Harriet, were both fascinated by a shiny green mouse with a long red tail. You could see they both wanted to play with it and indeed both did get to play with it individually. It was when the mouse was lying between them when it got to be humorous - at one point they were both lying on their backs, all 4 paws spread apart, reaching up over their heads with their paw trying to bat the mouse in their direction. They would bat at each other, which was very funny considering Harriet is big, furry, and has paws like baseball mitts (she's a polydactyl) and Delaney seems much smaller in comparison! It was a battle of wits, a dance if you will, of who would be victorious in ultimately scoring the mouse!
Delaney is such a great cat in so many ways. She is sure to do well in just about any home and will not only keep you endlessly entertained but will make you feel incredibly loved!
