Pocahontas's Story...
Hello, I am Pocahontas, daughter of Wahunsunacawh… Yes, I am a true beauty in every sense… A princess if you will… I love other dogs, and children too… And, I am doing well working on becoming housebroken. I lost my leg in a devastating battle against a tribe of the kitty kats (ok, so that's not exactly true)… And even though I get around just fine, and even though I am healthy, happy and run and play just like 4 legged dogs, I feel a little bitter towards felines at the moment.. So, let’s say a cat free household would be best, OK? You won’t meet a friendlier princess than I, so don’t sit there thinking about it, adopt a little 3 legged princess… You won’t regret it!!! 2 years old-38lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; spay, microchip, reduced cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pocahontas, a Portland Golden Retriever/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Corgi for sale in Portland, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Corgi dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Corgi breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
