Abe's Story...
I’m Abe, named after a man as honest and can be. And I honestly can’t believe that I’m a homeless dog two times over. I first came to FOHA because my family wasn’t watching out for my safety. One of the family cats had been hit by a car and died, and I was found frequently wandering the streets on my own as well. Someone was afraid that I might meet a dreadful end. So I went to this place called FOHA, where I was adopted and found a new home. We all thought it would be a forever home, but situations changed for my second family, including a baby, school, and a move out of the country. All this meant not enough time for Abe. Oh, dear me. Well, I’m hoping that the third time’s the charm. I certainly deserve the stability and security of a home that I can enjoy for the rest of my life. I’m a well-behaved boy, good with children, well-behaved in the house, and completely housebroken. I’m a very good boy on the leash and enjoy walks and strolls. I’m friendly with all the other dogs I meet and even willingly share my space with cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abe, a Aldie Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
