My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Casey is a stunning white Persian male with beautiful blue eyes.

When you get to know Casey you will find out that he is a loveable big goof ball.

He is so affectionate, he will stand up on his back legs for a pet, jump up on your lap for a nap and just drop down on your feet like a big puppy. He likes to purr loudly and play with any toys you will give him. He looks really cute and adorable when he sleeps, his head resting on his big fluffy white paws.

Casey says: I am a great eater, I love my wet food and nibble on dry food as well. I have very good manners, always use the litter box and I am very clean. I love sisal scratching posts and mats. I am a very handsome boy, I have gorgeous white fur(I just got a nice and clean summer lion cut so I can stay cool). As a white cat, grooming is very important and I am very good at it. My stunning blue eyes will look up at my people with love and adoration. These eyes need to be cleaned daily, I have the typical Persian eyes that stain. You can use warm water and a washcloth or papertowel.

Unfortunately, my FIV test for feline aids came back positive when I came to Helping Persian Cats. HPC then had me tested with the Western Blot Test. This one came back indeterminate. I have since then been tested a second time and that test was indeterminate as well. So we are not sure I am Fiv positive at all.

I am definetely not a sick cat, even if those results where positive, I couldn't be healthier and more energetic than I am right now. It's so complicated, but a positive FIV test could even mean that someone in my past had me vaccinated against FIV- there's no way to know for sure! Just so you know, FIV cats can live healthy and long lives. It just means that I should always be indoors, vaccinated on time and treated quickly if I ever get sick since my immune system might be more compromised that cats without FIV. I might never even show symptoms. FIV is contagious to other cats, though it can only be transferred by deep bite wounds or deep scratch wounds. Thats why I might need to be an only cat, OR once my foster mom knows if I am friendly with other cats, I would be ok with friendly cats. Of course extreme caution and very long indroduction times need to be used to be safe. FIV can't be transfered by eating and drinking out of the same bowl or using the same litter box. It can't be transfered to other species, like dogs or people, or hamsters, birds, etc...

Won't you give me a loving forever home?

I promise, I will be your best buddy and show you my gratitude forever. I will even lick your hand.
