Mallory's Story...
UPDATE 6/7/09: Mallory is in a foster home with lots of other kitties. We don't want her to have to stay there long, but she is doing very well with the other cats. Please e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for more information on adopting her.
POSTED 5/24/09: Mallory is a 1 year old momma cat who was rescued from under a shed with her 4 kittens. She is a short haired gray and orange dilute torti cat. Mallory is very shy and needs an experienced owner. She is not feral and does not scratch or bite when we try to pet her, but she is very shy. Her kittens are also available for adoption. She had 4 boys, 3 orange and 1 black. The black kitten and lightest orange boy are becoming very sweet and loving in just a few short days. The other 2 are still shy like their mom and need someone to spend some extra time with them. All 4 kittens are at PetsMart this weekend but mom is still at the vet clinic. After being spayed and separated from her kittens, her mammary glands have become very swollen and tender. Mallory also needs a temporary foster home while she waits for her permanent home so she won't have to stay at the vet clinic. If you are experienced with shy cats, then Mallory needs your help. Please contact us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for more information. All of our cats and kittens have been leukemia tested, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas with Advantage multi, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Our adoption fee is $100 per cat or kitten to help cover a portion of the medical and care costs. Our adoption hours are Sat and Sun from 11am-5pm each weekend at PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mallory, a Putnam Hall Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Putnam Hall, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Putnam Hall.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Putnam Hall already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Putnam Hall breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Putnam Hall paves the way for another one to be saved.
