Liza's Story...
UPDATE 7/11/09: Liza is at PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville now waiting for someone to notice her. You just have to meet her and get to know her personality! She is very sweet and loving and can't wait to make someone happy. Please stop by and meet her or e-mail us for more information about our adoption process.
POSTED 5/24/09: Liza is a petite young 1 year old short haired, brown tabby with white, female. She wandered up to a house looking for a home and desperately wanted to come inside. The owners have a dog who does not get along with cats. They tried to care for Liza as an outdoor kitty but she desperately wanted to come inside for love and attention. We suspect she was dumped or abandoned since she is very sweet and not wild. During this past week of continuous rain, the owners could not stand seeing her sitting on their porch and in the rain pleading to come inside. They turned her over to rescue and Liza was immediately happy to be indoors and was even happy to be in a cage. I guess it was warm and dry and safe. This is a very sweet and loving cat. She is scheduled to be spayed this week and will then need to find a foster home and/or permanent home. Please e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com if you would like to meet Liza. All of our cats and kittens have been leukemia tested, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas with Advantage multi, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Our adoption fee is $100 per cat or kitten to help cover a portion of the medical and care costs. Our adoption hours are Sat and Sun from 11am-5pm each weekend at PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liza, a Putnam Hall Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Putnam Hall, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Putnam Hall.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Putnam Hall already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Putnam Hall breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Putnam Hall paves the way for another one to be saved.
