My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dodger! He is a great 8 month old black lab. Dodger is a medium to high energy dog who loves to run and play. Dodger has been through training on the remote collar and he is really good when walking. He is crate trained and very sweet and loving. He is very handsome with a very deep black color coat. In the last picture he is with his foster brother. Open your home to Dodger and you will not regret it!

UPDATE ON DODGER: Dodger is a wonderful black lab with some of the softest short hair you have ever touched. When you meet him, you will be showered with puppy kisses and his honey brown eyes will look at you intensely for directions – “What’s next mom?”. Dodger is a high energy dog and needs regular exercise. We play Frisbee with him and his foster brother, Cody, at least 3 times a day. Dodger, weighing about 40 lbs, is extremely agile and can out-run and out-jump Cody to catch the Frisbee – we have seen him leap 4 feet off the ground and clear Cody effortlessly!!. We are teaching him to bring the frisbee back because Dodger would rather be chased by Cody. Both dogs have learned to be respectful of each other, and will alternate turns fetching the frisbee. Dodger surprised us by bringing the newspaper to the house on several occasions (no training) – what a smart dog!

Like any puppy, Dodger is very inquisitive and will stay by your side at all times to see what you are doing. He knows what toys are his, and he does not chew on anything else in the house. He learns very quickly, and we have been training him with the collar and he is doing great on leach. He has learned to sit at the door until he is called, he sits and lays-down on command – and he will come when called most of the time. We have trained him to stay off the furniture, and he is very happy with his bed and his crate.

Dodger is such a friendly and outgoing puppy, he will do great in any home with a family that gives him exercise, structure, and lot of love. He is looking forward to meeting his forever family – could that be you?
