My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Tank, a couch surfing, sloppy kissing, belly rub loving hunk. Tank lived most of his life before rescue on the end of a chain with negligent owners who starved him. He was so skinny when he finally came into rescue that we could count every rib. But somehow, even through all of the abuse Tank endured, we've never seen anything but a smile on his face and sheer excitement to finally be acknowledged and loved on by humans. How this dog can see the very worst in people and still have nothing in his heart but love just blows our mind, and he exemplifies that amazing resilient spirit in dogs that make us love them so very much.

Since being in foster, Tank has worked up to a healthy 80lbs, and he's all love muffin all the time. If you've got a free hand, Tank is presenting his belly. Now that he's surrounded by all this love and human attention, Tank is soaking it in and rolling around in it. He absolutely adores people, hands to him mean lots of pets, and he greets everyone with a wiggling butt. Tank also enjoys playing with pup friends when belly rubs are unavailable. We do think a home with larger, sturdy children would be best as Tank is, well, a bit of a tank when it comes to swinging around his backside and tail in excitement. Coffee table contents and toddlers beware, cause' he's not a little boy. But he's the best big boy, and for a dog severely neglected until very recently, he's picking up basic commands and house training like a champ. And his treat motivated learning style will make fine tuning his training in a new home a snap. Tank's just begun a new chapter in life, and can't wait to find that special family that will share his story. Learn more about adopting Tank below.
