Samantha Stricklin's Story...
Hi, I'm Samantha, but you can call me Sammie. I'm about a 9 year old, spayed, 15 pound female Tortie. My human has to move soon and can't take me along with him, so I need a new home.

I've lived in an apartment for the last 7 years or so with my human and another cat, Alex, who I adopted as a kitten after he was abandoned.

I tend to be a pretty sedate cat, except when I'm chattering at those dang birds outside my window, or playing with what my human calls my "woobie", a fluff ball attached to a feather by an elastic string, or meowing to get his attention to pet me when he's working. I also have a kind of "thing" for toes and feet, especially when you just get out of the bath or shower. Expect me to nibble and rub on them until you get your shoes on. Oh yeah, sometimes when I give myself a bath, I forget to bring my tongue back inside my mouth. My human teases me about this all the time.

If you’d like to meet me, please call Charles at 318-588-0494 or e-mail sammie@charlesstricklin.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Samantha Stricklin, a Haughton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
