Sally's Story...
Sally (04-048) is almost 1 year old and she's tri-colored. Sally was given up by her owner who had no time for her. This wild child needs attention and training and is working on learning some manners. She has a ton of energy, but doesn't use it in a destructive way. Sally is extremely friendly, outgoing, very smart - quick to learn anything you're willing to teach her. She's learned fetch, sit, come, and off. Instead of now jumping on you when she's excited, you say "No Paws!", and she'll just jump in the air around you. She'll play with a toy for hours - you throw a toy and she will bring it back. She's a little too wild for small children, but would be a great companion with other dogs and cats. Sally is totally housebroken and crate trained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sally, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
