Ernie's Story...
Ernie is a happy, energetic, playful, goofy, sweet, and fun, one-year-old, 55-pound Shar Pei looking for the perfect home. Ernie is wonderful with other dogs, and extremely loving and snuggly with people. If you cuddle with Ernie, he just melts into your touch, and he is all kisses and tail wags. Ernie sits on command and gives high five with both paws in the air. He’s house-trained and crate-trained. Ernie is healthy, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, and tested negative for heartworm. To meet and possibly adopt Ernie, please contact Carol at weluvpawsilrescue@yahoo.com so she can send you an adoption application. His adoption fee of $300 helps support the dogs of the We Luv Paws Rescue Group.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernie, a Chicago Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
