Diamond's Story...
Diamond is a 3 legged, black chihuahua. She is one year old and weighs 5 pounds. She had been hit by a car and our vet said the leg was the worst injury she had seen - specifically a fracture and degloving. She gets around great on 3 legs though. Diamond is just precious. She is happy, perky and loving. She gets alone with other dogs. She is too small to be placed in a home with children. It is not known how she would be with cats. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our home page for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. Generally we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please call Penny Adams at 619-466-0426.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diamond, a Spring Valley Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
