Casper's Story...
Casper is a big boy who is mellow but likes to play. He is currently living with a young boy, his Dad and their small mix breed dog. He has very good hearing. Casper is full of spirit and character: Yesterday he pulled his bed so that is was out in the sunshine then went inside and collected from the coffee table: the remote, GameBoy and large bag of freshly made trail mix...then carefully placed them on his outdoor bed in almost the exact placement as they were when he found them. His foster Dad returned home to find Casper waiting proudly to show him his masterpiece. Not a single scratch on the electronics, nut or raisin was missing....maybe a little slobber but that was all. Casper is a collector. He'd like to collect his forever family....is that you?

It should be noted that Casper was extremely shy in the shelter. He is much better now but still bolts when he hears loud unpredictable noises. He will probably do well in a quieter home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Casper, a Davis Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Davis, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
