Al (with Zachary)'s Story...
Alexander and his brother Zachary were brought into a shelter in Rhode Island by a person who had fallen upon hard times. They have been well-cared for and are very sweet in their nature. Alexander is around 4-6 years old and weighs about 18 pounds. He is happy, friendly and does the very cutest "Peke" things like vocalize, rub his head against his favorite person, and play with toys. He would do well in a home with respectful children, and/or other (non-aggressive) dogs. The fee for both is 400. Please ask about Al and Zack if you are in RI, eastern CT, near Boston or Worcester or are in Cape Cod. Please call Judy at 401 647-0513 with any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Al (with Zachary), a Foster Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Foster, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Foster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Foster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Foster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Foster paves the way for another one to be saved.
