My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good Girl is a five year old, 50 pound, very special hound mix. She is crate trained, potty trained, dog and cat friendly, walks well on leash, and loves food so, so much. She wandered up to a house where they started to feed her and they gained her trust and brought her to us. She is very shy in new situations because she probably has not experienced life outside of a kennel prior to coming to rescue. In her foster home she is going for car rides, taking trips to the store, meeting new people, and getting more confident every single day. The promise of food makes this shy girl happy so she has responded to obedience training very well. She is a Nervous Nellie for sure so she will need a low key household and a person who can be patient and continue to show her how great adventures in the world can be. She responds very well to positive reinforcement so training her has been enjoyable for her foster mom. Once Good Girl gets a minute to warm up she is sweet and silly and will make a great partner for walks, hikes, and relaxing on the couch.

This dog is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms and has been treated in our care. The adoption fee is $400 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 10am-Noon. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
