Shelby's Story...
Hello, I am a 4 year old yellow Lab/greyhound? mix and I weigh approximately 65 pounds.

I am very energetic and love to play chase with a ball. I love the outdoors and fresh air, but also like to be a loyal companion with my owners indoors as well. I am an excellent guard dog, and will faithfully announce when strangers or visitors approach. I also know when to be quiet when asked.

I have had formal training classes x 2 with groups of dogs, and have my Canine Good Citizens award. (My mom & dad are proud because I have my CGC abbreviation after my name!) I am of course house-broken, and know all of the basic commands.

To be fair, I also need to let you know that I am choosy about my dog friends. For this reason it is best if I am the only four-legged creature in the household. You see, my dog sister & I don't get along - she beats up on me and picks fights. I'm afraid of her. So Mom & Dad want me to go to a better home where I will still be loved, but won't have to be kept separated from my "evil" dog sister. Sadly, my mom & dad truely love me, and they made a "Sophie's choice". Because I'm better behaved and better trained than my "evil" dog sister, they feel I'm more adoptable with a good family.

I would love to he part of your household and it would be great if I had opportunities to run in a fenced back yard or on a dog run.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelby, a Buffalo Labrador Retriever/Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Greyhound for sale in Buffalo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Greyhound dog from a breeder in Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Greyhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
