Gordon is a Collie/German Shepherd Mix. He is Black and Tan/Fawn. Gordon is 2 Years Old. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He weighs around 35 lbs.
Gordon is such a calm sweet boy! He loves to just hang out with you, usually laying right by your feet. He loves to be around people and the more he's around you the more open he becomes. Once he's used to you all he does is wag his tail when he's walking towards you. He's so excited to be spending time with a person who cares for him. He likes to lay on the floor and with some encouragement he'll jump onto the couch and cuddle with you. When he's outside he walks around and goes potty and then finds a nice soft grassy spot and lays down. He likes to sunbath outside, completely rolled to his side soaking up the sun. Gordon also loves when you join him for sunbathing, he'll roll over on his back and want belly rubs and to be pet and adored. Gordon also loves being groomed. He'll sit all day by your feet being brushed, especially since when he came to us with an unhealthy coat. Now his hair is so soft and healthy, he saunters around knowing he looks beautiful! Gordon just is looking for that special someone who loves him and being himself!
Gordon would do well in a calmer household. He has a very gentle personality so if he would find his family with an older couple with grandkids who visited that would be perfect. He does great with all people, kids and dogs! After Gordon has a chance to warm up to people he likes to wag his tail all the time and sit next to them. He does very well on the leash if you keep his pace, sometimes if your going to fast Gordon will just sit down and look at you waiting for you to slow down. Gordon isn't very playful so an active family wouldn't be best, but slowly when he feels very comfortable with his family he might open up to being a little more playful. Gordon has a very gentle and sweet personality so anyone who adopts him will have a wonderful life with him!
Gordon is not aggressive with other dogs, he has been with small, large, young and old dogs.
At the rescue we require dogs to be kept indoors.
There is a $100 Adoption Fee for all dogs. Which includes the Spay/Neuter, Parvo/Distemper Combo Shot, Rabies Shot, Worming, Heartworm Tested Negative if over 6 months and Flea/Tick Prevention.
