My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come and meet me at the Memphis Farmers Market, Downtown Memphis Saturday, August 15th from 8 a.m. to noon. If you can't adopt maybe you can bring me a new toy to play with. Woof-woof-bow-wow Thanks!

Stinky weighs about 9 pounds, the runt of the litter. He is one of 7 pups rescued from Marshall County. They are about 12 weeks old and very lucky to have made it to a rescue group.

The mother looks like a border collie-cocker mix and weighs about 25 pounds. We don't know who the fathers were but feel these pups should be rather small when full grown...maybe 20 to 35 pounds. The family does have a male chihuahua that is not neutered.

The mother of these 7 pups has now been spayed so she won't have to worry about having any more pups. There were three female dogs living at the home and all are now spayed. Two of the females have had 2 litters each. We were told that the other three litters were hauled off to the woods to fend for themselves. Originally we took in 5 pups and made a call back to the family to bring the other pups if they could find them. Lucky for Stinky and Jewel, number 6 & 7 pup they also made it to a rescue group. Stinky was so thin you could see all of his ribs but his belly was fat from all the worms. He probably wouldn't have survived many more days there. The pets water source is the pond on the propery.

All 7 pups have been spayed/neutered, have their 1st puppy vaccine, wormed twice, frontlined and on heartworm prevention. If any little one ever needed help, these little ones surely did....and they got it!

Save 1 Pet is a 501 C 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless aniamls. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes and foster the animals until they can find a forever home.
