HUNTER's Story...
Hunter will be 2 years old in December and is a FB Schnauzer that just got neutered. He is a very sweet young man, but had a very rough beginning and did not learn many social skills, while tied to a doghouse and left to fend for himself. Here he gets along with everyone EXCEPT is not too fond on other male dogs...likes to posture and act dominant....this behavior is subsiding since his surgery, but for his forever home, our behaviorist suggests that he be placed with a female companion. or as an only dog ..or a younger male puppy(as he plays like a puppy himself with ALL the pups here) So he didn't have a puppyhood and certainly not the dicipline or affection that he needed, but he is on his way to being a very balanced young man.
Hunter has learned to walk on a leash, sits politely for his treats, is housebroken and crate trained...and is seeking a home where he does not have to spend too much 'alone time'. ...he has had enough of that for this lifetime! He loves every person he meets ...large and small.
Hunter's adoption fee is $150

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HUNTER, a McArthur Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in McArthur, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in McArthur.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McArthur already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McArthur breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McArthur paves the way for another one to be saved.
