Hi, everyone!
My name is Candy,, but my Fommy (foster mommy) calls me Candy Cane or "C.C." because one of my foster sister's named Brandy, and it sounds too close.
Anyway....I'm a 3 year old female Maltese.

I used to live in a nasty puppymill, but was dumped when I didn't produce puppies for them .
BOY, was I LUCKY, because THEN, CCR could rescue me!
I'm REAL cute! If you like sweet little barks and cheerful "baroos", that's me, after I get to know you a bit better.

Fommy says I'm PERFECT, even though my left rear leg is a little short; my paw is underdeveloped and I was born without toes on that side.
I'm kinda' small, with short legs to begin with, and stairs scare me.
Fommy made a ramp so I could go outside without her carrying me, but I'm still scared to use it,...for now.
She's trying to housebreak or pad train me, but, ya' know, it's not easy after I've been living all my life in a small cage, never getting loving, caring attention or training. But enough about that.

I LOVE being with foster doggie brothers and sisters of ALL sizes, from a Chihuahua to pitties.
Oh! And FOOD! I'm not "food motivated", but like the new cuisine, although I won't eat if you're watching,...not yet, anyway.

I've been told I'm a very healthy girl, and only need to be spayed (whatever that is) and get my teeth cleaned, which is scheduled August 22.
I really don't understand much of any of this....only German Deutsche was spoken around me in the Amish puppymill.
But, I am learning English. (Fommy is interpreting for me, so I can write to you.)

I'll soon be ready for one of those "forever" homes, hopefully, with a doggie brother or sister, or two,...and with a patient, loving mommy who will continue to help me learn how to be a well-trained, beloved family member.
I'm a little shy about coming right up to you, nervous at being picked up, and still learning to walk on a leash. BUT, I AM learning!
I hope you want to meet me, and fall in love! XO 💖 🐾 Candy

Candy is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and will be spayed and have a dental prior to adoption.
