Frosty's Story...
Maybe Frosty was loved at some point in his life. Maybe the person who put him in a box and left him on a doorstep really did love him and knew that the woman in the home loved dogs and would take care of him. We hope he was loved but the small healed scars on his face and his coarse dry hair say maybe not. Maybe it was just an accident that he was left on the doorstep of a dog lover. But whatever went on his life, he's safe now. And he's happy. He's very friendly with everyone and eager to be loved. He would be a wonderful addition to any family.

Frosty is a Silver Dapple Dachshund. He was born on 2/1/2004 and weigh about 11 pounds.

Frosty invites you to visit him on his own web page:

About Hearts United for Animals

About Our Shelter...

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill animal shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering. We rescue dogs from all over the country and specialize in long distance adoptions. We take the creatures who are lost, afraid, hungry or ill and comfort them, give them a warm, soft bed, good food, medical care and most of all, love.

HUA is a place of happiness, joy and love. Everything we do is in the best interest of the dogs. There are no cages. The dogs have big fields of grass and trees in which to run. Our primary interest is what will make them happy. HUA is a place to celebrate the joy of life.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our pets are available for viewing on the internet at www.hua.org. Come read their stories and see their individual pages.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for all dogs is $200.

We require an application (found on our website). We also require a home visit and vet reference check. Fenced yards are required for most dogs. Many of our dogs may not be good with children, or it may depend on the age of the children...please feel free to ask who we would consider good with young ones.

All dogs will come spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

We put the welfare of the dogs before all else and are very careful with their placement. Many of our dogs are puppy mill survivors or have otherwise been physically or emotionally traumatized. Our goal is to find them the very best homes possible where they will be loved and adored family members, where they will be kept safe and receive no less than exceptional care for the rest of their lives.
