Tara's Story...
COURTESY POSTING

Tara is a 5 month old female German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix puppy that is in desperate need of a new home ASAP! A family in La Crescenta found her wandering alone in Tujunga Canyon. They have tried finding the owner, but clearly the dog was just dumped in the canyon to fend for herself. Thankfully the family has taken good care of her in the meantime and has asked for my help in finding her a new home. The family would LOVE to keep the dog, but the mother is extremely allergic so the puppy has been secluded to the back yard and is not getting the much needed attention and training a puppy this age needs!

Tara is extremely sweet and absolutely loves everyone she meets. She loves belly rubs, playing with toys, and running around the backyard. She's a little scared of other dogs at first, but once she realizes they are friendly she is happy to play with them. She has had no contact with cats, but I think would be more afraid of them than anything. She rides really well in the car and appears to be somewhat housebroken, but being an outdoor only dog at her foster families house she will definitely need a refresher in it. She would be a fabulous dog for any family as she LOVES kids, or would make a great companion for someone who wants to be active with their dog. I think she would really love going on hikes and being a jogging partner! She is currently 35 pounds at 5 months so she will be a fairly large sized dog. The vet estimated around 70 pounds full grown, but it is hard to tell.

She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and given flea medication. Her adoption fee will be $150, and includes a collar, leash and dog crate. For more information on Tara or the adoption process, please email juliajcody@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tara, a La Canada Flintridge German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler for sale in La Canada Flintridge, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler puppy from a breeder in La Canada Flintridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Canada Flintridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Canada Flintridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Canada Flintridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
