Sweetie's Story...
What a roller-coaster of a life Sweetie has had! When she was a kitten, she was attacked by a raccoon, resulting in her back legs being amputated. She now has short nubs for her back legs.
When her owner passed away, she came to Good Mews. She was quickly adopted and had a loving home for years. Then this owner fell ill and could no longer take care of her, so back to Good Mews she came! Sweetie is so upset that she lost not one, but two loving homes!
Sweetie gets along just fine without her back legs, but she will require a special home to keep her comfortable. She is the sweetest girl and loves to sit on laps. She just wants someone to love, and for that person to love her back. Will her third home be her lucky charm?
Sweetie is part of the HALO program, so if you would like more information about her, please contact the Executive Director, Robbin Yeager.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweetie, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
