Chrissy's Story...
Chrissy is an extremely sweet, gentle, gorgeous and loving 13-year-old Calico cat waiting for the perfect home at the Felines Inc shelter in Chicago. Chrissy gets along great with other cats and is lovely with people – even small children. Sadly she was returned to the shelter after seven years because the family’s baby sitter was allergic to them. This girl is a delightful senior, well-behaved in the home, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, tested for viruses, micro-chipped and has all her claws. You can meet her at the Felines Inc shelter from 12:30PM - 6:00PM seven days a week. For more information, please e-mail info@felinesinc.org or call 773-465-4132. Felines Inc is located at 6379 North Paulina – the corner of Paulina and Devon, in Chicago, Illinois. Her adoption fee is on a sliding scale from $75 to $100 and benefits the 125 rescued cats at the Felines Inc shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chrissy, a Chicago Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
