Scout's Story...
Meet Scout! She is an older husky / malamute mix looking for her forever home. She came to ARF as a stray, so we are learning new things about her daily. We do know that she is calm and laid-back – quite content to sit at her cage door and watch the world go by. Maybe she is just waiting for that perfect person to walk up to her cage to take her home! Other dogs do not seem to faze Scout and she is perfect on her leash. We suspect that she may have some hearing issues, but that doesn't stop her from being affectionate and gentle with people! Scout will make a great companion for the right family.

If you would like to give Scout her second chance at a loving family, contact her adoption consultant, Debby, at 440-364-1286 or by e-mail at djg_dogs@cox.net. You can also come visit her at the shelter…she can’t wait to meet you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scout, a Berea Husky/Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Alaskan Malamute for sale in Berea, or seeking a Husky/Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Husky/Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
