Alexis's Story...
Alexis is a lovely, mellow, well-mannered, nine-year-old, 50-pound Doberman Pinscher or mix looking for a loving home. Her foster mom calls her the perfect dog! She’s great with other even-tempered, relaxed dogs … currently she’s living with four. Although she could also be content as the only dog in the home. Alexis is crate and house-trained. But she’s so good in the home, she doesn’t even need to be crated. Alexis already knows the commands sit, wait, stay, and walks beautifully on leash. She’s older and laid back, so Alexis doesn’t require a lot of exercise, but certainly enjoys her walks. Because Alexis can be a little too enthusiastic when grabbing her treats, she’s best in a home with children over 12 years of age. To meet and possibly adopt Alexis, please fill in an adoption application at http://www.ildoberescue.com and you can follow-up to ask questions or meet her by contacting her foster mom Amy at or Pam at (847) 277-1082. Her adoption donation of $100 benefits the rescued pets of Illinois Doberman Plus Rescue. Alexis is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, on preventative and treated for fleas and worms.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alexis, a Chicago Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
