Horace's Story...
Horace is the shyest kitten. He's cautious and timid, but also very sweet and playful. He likes attention but he's too reserved or nervous to show it. After some time he will warm up to whomever adopts him, and purr and be friendly. When you just reach toward his head, he tends to back away and get scared. To pet him, give him time to sniff your hand and reach around to the side instead of over him, at least as first. When he uses the litter box he makes sure everything is covered up and in order before he does something else, which really cute. He loves this little ball of fur as a toy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Horace, a Davis Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Davis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
