ZOE

Portland, Maine

I am Zoe - a 9-month mixed breed pup. I have been through a lot in my short life, but am still a happy, outgoing girl! I am very cute - that is what every tells me!

Here is my story: I was born at a shelter in Tennessee when my mom came in as a stray - pregnant with me. Once I was 8 weeks old, I went to what I thought was my forever family. They fell in love with me as a puppy - but as soon as I started to grow, they no longer had interest in me and threw me outside on a chain. I was very sad and lonely.

Then when I was 8 months old - they gave me back to the shelter. Nobody showed any interest in bringing me home - I do not know why...I am a really happy, sweet girl.

A nice woman who works at the shelter told me that my time was up - whatever that means, but not to worry because she was going to break me out of jail and save my life.

She was true to her word - because the next thing I knew I was out of the shelter. I spent some time in a foster home and another kennel, but this one was much nicer - I had my own TV and everything! Then I spent two days traveling in a crate...that was pretty scary, not to mention boring - but it was all worth while! When I was let out of my crate I was in wonderful place called Maine. The nice woman who picked me up told me that Maine is the best place in the world to be a dog - and I think she is right. I love it here!

Now I am living in some place called a "foster home" where I have a fenced in yard, and a 6 year old boy to play with. I already have a boyfriend named Riley. He is a handsome black dog who lives next door. We spend a lot of time running and playing in my yard.

I love to go for walks and greet everyone we meet along the way with a wagging tail and smile. If I really like you - I will drop to the ground and let you rub my belly!

I am not very big - only 43 lbs - and I love humans big and small! I love to run and play. Tennis balls are so much fun! I will pick them up if you throw them, but don't always give them back.

I am a bit of a counter surfer, but get down when told, and I think everything is a toy - especially shoes. I like to carry them around in my mouth.

My humans say that I am really smart and would be an excellent student at obedience school.

I already know how to "sit". I know my name and I love to go for rides in the car.

I am ready to find my forever family - my real forever family. I have so much love to give - I will make a wonderful companion. Please consider adding me to your family. !

Thank you!

Zoe
